TINKEBELL is a visual artist, in her work she explores hidden errors and wrongdoings in our society.

TINKEBELL (pseudonym of Katinka Simonse) (b. 1979) graduated from the Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam. In her work, she investigates hidden errors and abuses in our society. These can be matters concerning human rights, polluting industry, safety standards and radiation risk, dissemination of (fake) news, etcetera. All these issues are ultimately interconnected and, when you want to reach solutions, turn out to be a Rubik's Cube. Through her work and the impact of her projects, she tries to initiate shifts to solve this puzzle.

The arts are an initial tool for TINKEBELL. to draw attention to pressing issues. As a form of expression, she always chooses which best suits the story to be told. But in the process, she works with organizations, experts, scientists, politicians, businesses and activists on sustainable collaborations and solutions. Whether it's finding a safe home for displaced people, changing political policies or about a different future for TataSteel.

Based in Amsterdam, TINKEBELL. works with Mo van der Have and TORCHGallery, has written several books and columns for Trouw, Het Parool and Kunstbeeld, among others, and travels constantly to hotbeds and calamities scattered around the world for her research.
